Letter from the Principal March 2, 2021

March 2, 2021

Dear Andrada Families,

As has been discussed at last week’s board meeting and Mr. Carruth has recently shared, the district is
making plans to expand in-person instruction for all grade levels beginning March 22, 2021 (immediately
following Spring Break).

We would like to take this opportunity to share with you what this means for Andrada students and the
details of what in-person instruction and Brick-to-Click (remote) instruction will look like through 4th
quarter.

After carefully considering the two options below, we ask that you complete this survey by Monday,
March 8th at 4:00pm to make your choice for the 4th quarter.

IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION
Families who choose in-person instruction during 4th quarter can expect the following:

● Attendance for in-person instruction will increase to 4 days a week, Monday-Thursday.
● On Fridays all students will remain learning @home using our current modified Friday bell
schedule. Assigned tutoring/reteach and office hours will continue to be scheduled on Friday
afternoons.
● Students choosing in-person learning are expected to be on campus 4 days a week. Choosing to
be remote on some days is not an option.
● If students will not be present for in-person learning for any reason, the attendance office MUST
be called or students will be marked with an unexcused absence.
● Class sizes will increase, as determined by how many families choose in-person learning. Social
distancing in classrooms will be upheld to the extent possible depending upon the number of
students in each class.

BRICK-TO-CLICK INSTRUCTION
Families who choose Brick-to-Click instruction during 4th quarter can expect the following:

● Students will access classes remotely, Monday-Thursday, and are expected to log in to their class
conferences via Schoology at the beginning of each period. Students who do not participate in
the conference will be marked with an unexcused absence.
● If for any reason you child is unable to participate in their conferences remotely, the attendance
office must be notified.
● On Fridays all students will remain learning @home using our current modified Friday bell
schedule. Assigned tutoring/reteach and office hours will continue to be scheduled on Friday
afternoons.
● The amount of time students are expected to remain in a conference will vary depending upon the
class subject and material being covered, and may change from day to day. Teachers will do their
best to address the needs of both in-person and remote students.

We encourage you to discuss these options with your child and make the choice that is best for your
family.

Seniors and Juniors: Please keep in mind that pathway classes may require in-person hours/skills
assessments for certification. Students selecting the Brick-to-Click option may not be able to complete
their hours and certifications. For specific questions regarding certification requirements, please reach out
to your child’s pathway teacher.

If you have any questions, please email us at andrada@vailschooldistrict.org

We are asking every student to submit their choice for the 4th quarter. Please click the following link to
complete the survey and indicate the 4th quarter learning choice for your child(ren) no later than Monday,
March 8th at 4:00pm. https://forms.gle/jx63cxFsQTqqMXGh6
